Chicago International Dispute Resolution Association Forms Alliance with the Polish Arbitration AssociationChicago, Illinois - June 30, 2003 - The Chicago International Dispute Resolution Association (CIDRA) announced an alliance with the Polish Arbitration Association (PAA). CIDRA and PAA seek to promote the efficient resolution of international commercial disputes by means of arbitration, mediation and independent fact-finding. CIDRA is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, and the PAA in Warsaw, Poland. The organizations will cooperate to provide arbitrators, mediators and experts, as well as facilities and support services in each other's home cities. In addition, the alliance will facilitate the organization of conferences and educational programs. Chicago and Warsaw are "sister cities," and Chicago's large Polish-American population makes the partnership a particularly important one. Sylwester Pieckowski of Altheimer & Gray in Warsaw, PAA President Dr. Andrzej Tynel, and Alan Aleksandrowicz, Legal Vice Counsel for the Consulate General of Poland in Chicago, assisted in the formation of the alliance. Peter V. Baugher, President of CIDRA and a partner at Schopf & Weiss law firm in Chicago, said: "CIDRA is pleased to become a partner with the Polish Arbitration Association in promoting alternative means of resolving international commercial disputes. We look forward to many years of cooperation."
CIDRA was established in 1997 as a forum devoted to the resolution of private international business disputes. It provides a neutral, private setting for arbitration and mediation. CIDRA maintains a roster of qualified attorneys and experts ready to serve on arbitration panels and as mediators and fact-finders. For information visit www.cidra.org or contact: Peter V.
