Chicago International Dispute Resolution Association

NORTH AMERICAN BRANCH
THE CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF ARBITRATORS

International Entry Course

The International Entry Level Course consists of two days of Lectures and breakout sessions introducing the unique aspects of International Commercial Arbitration to those who have had little or no contact with that particular process of binding dispute resolution conducted outside the courtroom. The course is directed towards those who wish to:

  • Learn more about the process of international commercial arbitration.
  • Prepare themselves for the role of advocates on behalf of a party engaged in that process.
  • Serve as neutrals in international commercial disputes and learn about the particular skills necessary to conduct or assist as a tribunal member in international commercial arbitration proceedings.

The Course will also provide case related scenarios to afford participants the opportunity to confront, analyze and resolve procedures and substantive issues which arise in an international arbitration. An examination follows on the morning following the Course sessions.
