Fast Track Programme to Fellowship
Assessment Workshop

The Programme consists of two days of oral and written assessment in small Workshop groups.

The Workshop itself consist of two elements:

  • Pre-course reading. A copy of the reading list will be sent with our acknowledgment of your registration to attend the Workshops sessions.
  • Two days of role playing and oral assessment. It is assumed that your knowledge is current as to the general laws within at least your own jurisdiction in North America, if not generally, on the subjects of the law of contract, tort and evidence as applicable to arbitration. Candidates are awarded a Pass or Fail based on the demonstrated ability displayed by the participant as determined from the assessment of at least three Tutor/Assessors who will be present during the Workshops. An Award Writing Examination will be given on the morning following the Workshop sessions.

Membership in the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators:

Attendance at the Workshops will qualify non-members to apply for Associate membership in The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

A successful assessment and receipt of a passing grade on the Award Writing Examination will enable you to upgrade to Member status if you are already an Associate Member, or directly to that status and start you on the path to the rank of Fellow (which can carry with it the right to use the title "Chartered Arbitrator" by fulfilling additional requirements).

Workshop Fee:

The fee for attendance at the Workshops will be US$800.00; however, registrations received by March 20, 2002, will be at a reduced fee of US$750.00. Fees include the cost of all documentation, refreshment breaks, and course dinner on May 30, but does NOT include overnight accommodations.
