The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators was founded in 1915 in England, incorporated
in 1924, and received a Royal Charter in 1979 granted by Queen Elizabeth II.
The CIArb is a professional body with headquarters in London and Branches throughout
the United Kingdom ("UK") and overseas in places such as India, North America,
Europe, Cyprus, Bermuda, Australia, Kenya and Zimbabwe. The Institute comprises
almost 10,000 members located in 85 countries around the world, includes practitioners
in law, construction, shipping, finance, insurance, commodities, agriculture,
accountancy and medicine. The Institute's sphere of interests is constantly
being widened to encompass other specialist fields and procedures.
THE CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF ARBITRATORS is recognized in the UK and many other
countries as the leading professional body for the training and examination
of those seeking to become qualified arbitrators.
In 1993, a NORTH
AMERICAN BRANCH was established for the Associate Members and Fellows
of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators residing and practicing in the United
States and Canada. In 1995, the Branch was expanded to include its first Member
in Mexico.
Those who wish to apply for membership should bring a black and white passport
photograph to the session.

THE CHICAGO INTERNATIONAL DISPUTE RESOLUTION ASSOCIATION (CIDRA) is dedicated
to providing flexible, efficient and fair mediations and arbitrations for business
disputes that cross national borders. Based in Chicago, one of the world's leading
commercial centers, and within a jurisdiction which has passed the UNCITRAL
Model Law, CIDRA provides a neutral, private setting for arbitration and mediation.
